Research

langejahn 2My research work focuses on the spectral analysis of X-ray and Gamma-ray characteristics of extragalactic jets and, in particular, of blazars. Especially the emission in the high-energy regime as well as issues like variability challenge the creation of a common picture.
For my project I am using observations of Swift/BAT, Fermi and INTEGRAL in the high energy domain to study larger radio-selected samples of blazars as well as single sources. I am also interested in current issues of unification schemes of this AGN type like the blazar sequence. (Picture: Blazars in the hard X-ray sky) (Picture: Blazars in the hard X-ray sky)
